Willmott Dixon to start out £21m Durham college rebuild

The Division for Training has signed phrases with Willmott Dixon Development for the demolition of structures at Durham Academy and reconstruction of amenities.

Two of the secondary college’s major structures, relationship from the Nineteen Sixties, will likely be demolished: a 19,000 sq feet two-storey block and a 40,000 sq feet block that levels from one to a few storeys.

A brand new three-storey construction with capability for 500 pupils is to be in-built position, which is identical capability because it was once ahead of.

The proposed construction is predicted to take roughly 25 months to finish, with web site paintings beginning this month and demolition of the primary construction starting in September.
