Wyoming Inexperienced River Tunnel reopens after fatal crash

The eastbound lanes of the Inexperienced River Tunnel in Southwest Wyoming opened to head-to-head site visitors on February 20, six days after a multi-car crash began a hearth within the westbound tunnel that killed 3 other people and injured 18.

The Wyoming Division of Transportation stated its engineers had been assured within the structural integrity of the eastbound tunnel.

The WYDOT awarded an emergency contract with DeBernardi Building to transport greater than 5,000 ft of concrete limitations to the crossover lanes for steering site visitors head-to-head within the eastbound tunnel.
